Media flocked to be the first to view the newest seasonal offerings at this custom-designed  event created by Undertow Media, Auckland.

As an ongoing client of Undertow Media, Kmart tasked our team with creating, curating and implementing a media preview event for their latest Kmart Living launch.

The brief was to engage a mix of traditional media and influential living-focused, local bloggers to attend an event that showcased a broad range of Kmart Living product, in multiple settings.

“Thank you for having us, the set up looked lovely and I’m planning to head to Kmart to have a look for my wish list! So much cool stuff!” (Australian Women’s Weekly)

With events and media launches becoming more and more popular, Undertow Media NZ went to work to create an event that would knock the socks off the easily-jaded traditional media and highly-vocal bloggers.

Settling on a recently renovated boat shed in an inner-city suburb of Auckland the styling team totally revamped the open-plan space. Creating 9 individually-styled areas incorporating a vast range of the latest Kmart products available to us, the open space was centrally anchored by tables laden with a generous variety of locally-sourced tasty treats.

“We had such a fantastic time, and have made mile long lists of everything we want. It was such a gorgeous venue, and the set up was incredible – I honestly don’t think we’ve been to an event as gorgeous as this one!’’ (Makeupper)

Welcoming our media over two specially tailored sessions, one for traditional media and the second dedicated to local bloggers, ensured we could focus on and cater to each individual in a more personal and unique way – from the products we had selected, (knowing which guest would enjoy which styled area) through to personalised gifts; each guest left having had a thorough session on the great products available as well as meeting members of the Kmart buying team and learning about their sourcing and design processes.

Oh – and the client was chuffed too.

“Well done and thank you so much for the fantastic job you have all done. You have all been amazing.” (Sue Smith, NZ Managing Director)
